It’s The Food!

I was always struck by the response when I asked Chinese students in the US what they missed most about China. “The food!” This was the universal answer. Typically, it was followed by family and friends, but invariably the flavors of China were the most poignant element that was lacking in the good ol’ US of A. Now I see why. We returned yesterday afternoon to one of our favorite little restaurants here in Xining after three months in the US. The food was delicious!

We’ve always had two dishes at this restaurant. You can see a picture of the fried potato slices we can’t get enough of at the top of the page. And below is the sweet and sour chicken that we love.

Come visit us and we’ll take you for some wonderful noodles too!
