10/1 Holiday

There are a handful of big Holidays in China. One of them is 10/1. It’s similar to The Fourth of July in the US except that it’s celebrated over seven days. The nice thing about the length is that it gives you time to travel. We’ve found that the kiddos are often tired by the time we get to these long breaks so we didn’t travel this time. However, we did have guests!

Our first visitors that came all the way out here just to see us! Pai and Jing have been friends since 2009. They are currently living and working in Eastern China (山东). We got a call last Monday saying to expect them Tuesday night. They had just started the two day drive out to our little city. As I write this, they are making the two day drive back. We tried to give them a feel for what our life is like here and also took them to some of the sights nearby, but mostly we enjoyed every minute of time we got to spend with them and their little guy!

A big bowl of really long noodles!

Who’s next to come for a visit?!?

P.S. I haven’t forgotten about the driver’s license test questions, I just wanted to put this up right away.
